Profile - Nilanjan Das
Nilanjan Das has always been fascinated by human forms and has been experimenting with it in various mediums.
Moving out of established norms he has used nails, fingers, combs, and cloth among other things, to create his own style. His preference for minimalism shows in the choice of monochromatic shades. This is a first of its kind attempt to combine objects, charcoal, gold and acrylic colors on canvas and a break from the digital format in which he usually works.
Nialnjan is currently working as a Deputy Art Director in TIME Magazine. He is a recipient of:
- SOPA AWARDS (Society of publishers Asia) Excellence in Design
- IFRA International Graphic Award (silver) 2006 Malaysia
- IFRA International Graphic Award (Gold), 2005, Bangkok
- IFRA International Graphic Award (Silver), 2004, Singapore
- IDAA International Digital Art Award 2003, Melbourne
